Welcome to Rent Me, a platform operated by Mega Meem Marketing, connecting users with sellers for tent and camping gear rentals in Sri Lanka. By accessing or using our website (rent.tent.lk), including features like Map Search and Nearby Sellers, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering, browsing, or using Rent Me, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any other policies referenced herein. These Terms apply to all users, including renters, sellers, and visitors.
2. User Responsibilities
As a user, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information during registration (e.g., username, location, mobile number).
- Maintain the security of your account credentials and notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
- Use the platform for lawful purposes only, respecting other users and sellers.
- Not post false, misleading, or harmful content, including in profiles, listings, or reviews.
- Comply with all applicable laws in Sri Lanka, including consumer protection and rental regulations.
3. Seller Obligations
If you are a seller, you agree to:
- Provide accurate details about your rental items (e.g., tents, camping gear), including availability, condition, and pricing.
- Update your location coordinates and profile information (e.g., mobile number, profile picture) to ensure accurate display on Map Search and Nearby Sellers features.
- Honor bookings made through the platform and deliver items as agreed with renters.
- Respond promptly to inquiries and maintain professional conduct.
- Comply with tax and licensing requirements for your rental business.
4. Payments and Refunds
Payments for rentals are facilitated through the platform or directly between users and sellers, as specified in booking agreements. You agree:
- To pay all applicable fees, including rental costs and any service charges.
- That refunds are subject to the seller’s refund policy, which should be clearly stated in their listings.
- Rent Me is not responsible for disputes arising from payments or refunds but may assist in mediation.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on Rent Me, including text, logos, images, and software, is owned by Mega Meem Marketing or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute our content without written permission.
- Use our trademarks (e.g., "Rent Me") for commercial purposes without consent.
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to access the platform’s source code.
6. Limitation of Liability
Rent Me is a platform connecting renters and sellers and does not own or control rental items. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for damages arising from rental transactions, including defective items, delays, or disputes.
- We provide the platform "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed LKR 10,000.
7. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms or other policies.
- Engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
- Fail to maintain accurate profile or listing information.
You may delete your account at any time via the user dashboard, subject to settling any outstanding bookings or payments.
8. Changes to Terms and Platform Coding
We may update these Terms or modify the platform’s coding (e.g., features like Map Search, Nearby Sellers, or underlying software) at any time without prior notification. Changes are effective immediately upon posting the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of Rent Me constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
9. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of Rent Me shall be resolved through negotiation in good faith. If unresolved, disputes will be governed by the laws of Sri Lanka and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
